Will Lakey took his re-furbished Swing rifle and hand-loaded ammunition up to Cawdor for the Inverness Open and won the Queen's I prize, the King George V cup against first class opposition. The Queen's I competition is for the first 7 shots at the three distances, 300, 500 and 600 yards and his score of 105:9 represents 21 bull's eyes with 9 of them in the inner or "V" bull. This is good shooting by anyone's standard. Will with the King George V Trophy There had been a bit of trouble with ammunition at Will's last outing as he had been seduced by the siren voices advocating "neck-sizing" but after a few words from Charles Young and some additional work on the current batch of ammunition order has been restored. Will showing a good position on the Firing Point

Simon Melville is the latest member to score a perfect 100. Simon, who has been shooting for about three years, has seen steady improvement since starting and has managed to master a modern Walther which he aquired a year or so ago. As usual normal service was resumed with the next card but congratulations to Simon. Ron Kane was not available for comment.
